The students have some questions ready to answer. This can either be prepared by the teacher (see potential questions below here). Please feel free to change the question to suit the needs of your class/subject/topic. Alternatively the students can also prepare the questions.

Examples of questions:

  • Who is more organised?
  • Who demonstrated the strongest leadership skills in the team?
  • Who did the most amount of work?!
  • Who motivated the team the most?
  • Who kept everyone laughing and having fun?
  • Who is the most resilient?
  • Who is the most creative?
  • Who was the best at communicating?
  • Who is the most responsible?
  • Who was the best at researching?
  • Who was the best at coming up with ideas?
  • Who kept us going when we lost track?
  • Who is the best listener?

2

5 min per pair

Two people from the same team volunteer to stand back-to-back. Each student holds 3 sheets of paper. One page should say the name of the first team member, the other page the name of the second team member and the third page “ANOTHER TEAM MEMBER’.

They must reflect on their strengths and skills and answer the following questions (see below) using the paper to indicate their answers (no talking or communicating).

Make it a game! If two team members select the same person for each answer they get a point. See which team knows each other the best!

3

Contextual

Repeat the process with other pairs. Length of time differs depending on number of students in group

Tips & Tricks

  • This is a useful end-of term/topic/project activity that encourages students to consider their strengths and skills in a fun way. This exercise offers the opportunity to explore and showcase self-development and personal growth; it offers them an opportunity to reflect on their learning.
  • For this exercise, students need to have worked together in groups or teams.
  • Ask the students to create the questions – this will encourage them to reflect on the different skills and strengths needed to explore a topic/complete a project.
  • Be mindful of keeping the questions appreciative and ensure that the activity does not become competitive.
  • Consider if the students should present their reflections after they give their answers. Keep it short, each can answer with a one-sentence reflection after each question, before they move to the next question.
